His love captivated her… his secrets might kill her.

Since her sister’s mysterious death, Persephone “Phe” Archer has been plagued by a series of disturbing dreams. Determined to find out what happened to her sister, Phe enrolls at Devenish Prep in Shadow Hills, Massachusetts—the subject of her sister’s final diary entry.
After stepping on campus, Phe immediately realizes that there’s something different about this place—an unexplained epidemic that decimated the town in the 1700s, an ancient and creepy cemetery, and gorgeous boy Zach—and somehow she’s connected to it all.

But the more questions she asks and the deeper she digs, the more entangled Phe becomes in the haunting past of Shadow Hills. Finding what links her to this town…might cost her her life.

This was a book I started right before I went to bed, thinking I’d read “just a few pages”. Suddenly at 3:30 AM, I was finished, and I was left speechless. I was blown away by Shadow Hills. Writing this review, I simply can’t come up with words to express my feelings for this amazing book.

You would never once guess that Anastasia Hopcus is a deubt author. Shadow Hills is brilliantly written, and immensely gripping. The entire book has this suspenseful and mysterious feel to it.

I just loved all the characters. I like Phe, she wasn’t afraid to be herself and take action if need be. Toy was another character that was so fun. I love what she brought to the story. In the beginning, I wasn’t expecting to like Adriana, but she grew on me as the book went on. I found both Zach and Graham to be rather swoonworthy.

I loved every moment of this book. I desparately hope there will be a book two, as I want more of the story! Shadow Hills had all the pieces, great characters, an enticing plot, wonderful writing, and so much more. This is definately a must read.
