Scott Tracey’s Witch Eyes was one of my favorite books of last year, and the sequel Demon Eyes is definitely one of my most anticipated titles of this year.
Since I have finished Witch Eyes, I have been dying to know anything about Demon Eyes. Luckily I am not alone, and Rachel of Fiktshun and I are endlessly pestering Scott for any tidbit he will share. Rachel wrote up a much more cool sounding post, but basically, I think our pestering may have paid off since the other day he suggested that if we (Rachel and I) were to put out the call for suggestions for something fans of the series might want to see, he may just give in and pick one he likes.
Now what ideas am I talking about….
There are endless options. Perhaps we may see a post about one of the characters, like Braden, Troy, or Drew. Or maybe we’ll find out more about Catherine Lansing. Or maybe he’ll even choose to let Leah Clifford (a.k.a. Fake Scott) read a few chapters of Demon Eyes on BlogTV. Or maybe he’ll read a few himself. I’d pretty much be happy with anything at this point.
To make this happen and convince Scott Tracey to write the extra story or tidbit or whatever it ends up being, y’all should go VOTE for WITCH EYES in the BEST OF 2011 DEBUTS over at THE STORY SIREN
Now leave your suggestions of what YOU would like to see in the comments, and Scott will pick one, if he finds one that is just perfect. Also, I’m taking a leaf out of Rachel’s book, and I’ll give away something to my favorite suggestion. I don’t quite know what they’ll be yet, but I promise it’ll be great. I’ll pick a favorite on January 25th.
Also, here’s a bit about Witch Eyes, in case you haven’t heard
Braden was born with witch eyes: the ability to see the world as it truly is: a blinding explosion of memories, darkness, and magic. The power enables Braden to see through spells and lies, but at the cost of horrible pain.
After a terrifying vision reveals imminent danger for the uncle who raised and instructed him, Braden retreats to Belle Dam, an old city divided by two feuding witch dynasties. As rival family heads Catherine Lansing and Jason Thorpe desperately try to use Braden’s powers to unlock Belle Dam’s secrets, Braden vows never to become their sacrificial pawn. But everything changes when Braden learns that Jason is his father–and Trey, the enigmatic guy he’s falling for, is Catherine’s son.
To stop an insidious dark magic from consuming the town, Braden must master his gift—and risk losing the one he loves.

I’d love to see Braden, Troy and Drew talk to each other, unscripted, so we can get a glimpse of them when they’re not in Scott’s control! They can flirt, fight, banter – and maybe they’ll tell us where they want the story to go from here. Kinda like a round-table.
Or maybe Scott can moderate the discussion and ask them questions (author-led therapy for his creations!!) and we’ll get some hints about the direction Scott will take.
I voted:)

Oops – typo! Trey not Troy:)
OK – I’m doing this and not doing my work which is kinda going to get me in trouble but I can’t help it!
I was thinking something along the lines of a post that sounds like a game show, where either Scott or you or Rachel come up with the questions about topics that are still unclear, secretive and that might be answered or clarified in the next book and take turns asking Braden Trey or Drew to see what they think will happen or what they think people are hiding.
THEN Scott can award points based on who’s closest to the truth. And if he wants to reveal spoilers, that’s OK too:)

Okay, so this is awesome! I just finished reading Witch Eyes last night and I want more!
So I already suggested this to Rachel, but you never know, you might like my (honestly, kinda silly) suggestions!
But yeah, what I really want is an alternate event where Jade doesn’t know that Braden’s actually gay, and because he doesn’t drool after her like other guys, she goes hell bent on getting him to like her.
OOOH- new idea! What about an bonus scene about Lucien’s past- you know, how Grace cast a spell on him and all that. Eh, I dunno, just throwing out ideas here.

OK – I just sat straight up in bed with this thought – how about a scene from either Trey, Braden, Drew or even Jade that’s kind of like one of their fantasies? About each other, about how they would’ve liked a particular scene to go as opposed as what really happened, about what they want to happen if they could control everything.
OR a scene where a spell goes horribly wrong but has the funniest effects on everyone – acting either out of character or blurting out the truth, including Trey telling Catherine about Braden and then absolute mayhem ensues.
Or maybe that spell gets Braden, Jade, Trey and Drew all stuck in the same place together for the night and they have to co-exist. And of course that doesn’t go well, but in a funny, snarky way.
I’d also like to see a scene from when Catherine’s young where she’s totally in love and how she’d handle it. It could be funny, sweet, romantic, snarky – anything. I think it would be a great contrast.

Actually a scene from Braden, Trey Drew or Jade as they fantasize or daydream would be great as a lot of secrets, hidden thoughts would be revealed and it could also be a funny or exciting or totally romantic scene. I think it would be best if it’s a scene that brings Drew’s fantasy or secret wishes to life. He’s mysterious and it would be great to get some insight into him – and it would be intriguing to be able to understand him more and get a glimpse of his secrets (because I’m sure he’s got some huge ones!)

And this scene from Catherine’s youth would be from when she’s in love with someone off-limits and forbidden – like her son is now in love with Braden. It would be interesting to see how she handled it.
OR what if Braden’s power’s off for a day and he can’t see all the magic there and it’s the one day where a spell is cast over the entire town which makes everyone lose impulse control – I think a scene like that could lead to some very funny and revealing behavior, not only from Drew and Braden but also from Catherine and Jason and the others.
