My Top 10 Books of 2011
After a lot of deliberation, I was finally able to come up with a top ten list for my favorite books of the year. Starting with my #10 book, I’ll work my way down to my #1 read of the year. This order could probably change if you ask me tomorrow, but for today, here are my thoughts. I had such a hard time this year, since I read 156 books this year, which was a new record for me.
#10 Saving June by Hannah Harrington:
Road trip books are so much fun to read and I could not put this one down. I am very excited for future works from Hannah Harrington after this one.
#9 Skyship Academy: The Pearl Wars by Nick James:
This book was so cool. It was like science fiction with a ton of action and adventure. This is the first book in what I imagine will be an awesome series!
#8 Witch Eyes by Scott Tracey:
I wanted this book for so long, and once I read it I was simply blown away. This book was like a modern day Romeo and Juliet with witches and it rocked.
#7 Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins
This is an amazing book, and I love Stephanie Perkins writing. I cannot help but to just love Crickett!
#6 The Iron Queen by Julie Kagawa
I love this series so much and I think this book may be my favorite of the series. This was the book that had me crying at parts and had an ending that ripped my heart out and then stepped on it a few times. There were also lots of happy moments and those moments where you just want to go awwww. Team Ash <3
#5 Rise by Stefne Miller
Stefne Miller has a way with words, seriously. She writes the best contemporaries and I finished reading this one feeling happy and uplifted.
#4 A Touch Mortal by Leah Clifford
This was a book that I loved because Leah Clifford is not afraid to take a risk. Everything about this book is edgy and cool, and is super unique. The characters have a story worth telling, and I just loved it.
#3 Angelfire by Courtney Allison Moulton
A kick-ass heroine, rootbeer float kisses, a hot boy, and a lot of action – What more do you need? I simply loved this one – Courtney Allison Moulton is an author I am very excited to see more from in the future.
#2 Touch of Frost / Kiss of Frost by Jennifer Estep
This is my favorite new series of the year. It rocked so hard. There was mythology, romance, a hot bad boy, and a ton of action.
#1 Catching Jordan by Miranda Kenneally
I just loved this book. Everything about it was amazing. The characters were definitely my favorite of the year. And Sam Henry – just omg! I cannot wait for more from Miranda Kenneally.
Honorable Mentions (This list is crazy long this year as I loved SO SO many books this year!)
The Survivors by Amanda Havard
Enclave by Ann Aguirre
In the Forests of the Night by Kersten Hamilton
Fateful by Claudia Gray
Clarity by Kim Harrington
Nightspell by Leah Cypess
Silence by Becca Fitzpatrick
And also, A Book You Need To Watch Out For in 2012:
Witch’s Brew by Heidi R Kling – This book is BRILLIANT, brilliant I tell you. And when it comes out in the new year, you all definitely want to read it. I loved every page – and I’ll tell you a secret, I loved it even more than Sea!

Excellent choices! I really enjoyed LOLA and ANGELFIRE. Now I just need to hurry up and read A TOUCH MORTAL and WITCH EYES. Thanks for sharing your picks with us!
Oh, we loved Lola too. Our top 10 were posted today. Maybe Catching Jordan will make our list next year. ;)
clearly I need to get to reading. The only books on your list that I have read were Touch of Frost and Lola.
Totally agree with you for some of these! Saving June got to me, because I have sisters, though younger, and I would HATE to wake up, find them dead, and not know WHY they did it. The roadtripping, the sexy boy, and the lovable best friend just made this one so delicious and wonderful to read. And, yeah, I cried. Speaking of crying, I cried for The Iron Queen. That was such a killer way to end the book! And Lola and the Boy Next Door = WOW. Stephanie Perkins is a goddess.
Some of these I STILL have to try. Like Touch of Frost, Witch Eyes, and Catching Jordan! I'm slackin' here. I'm hoping to get to these soon.
Anyway, I hope you had a great holiday. And happy reading!

Lola and The Boy Next Door was probably my favorite book of 2011. I also agree that Saving June was probably one of the bests in 2011
Had I seen this post before I made my insane Book Depository order, I would have added A Touch Mortal to the order! Gah! I wanted to read that so bad and kept forgetting to add it to orders. Oh, well, I do have a birthday coming up (23 shopping days left!) and I will ask for that I think.
In other news, I have read 3 books on your list and I agree with you on all of them. Witch Eyes, Angelfire (crap! I should have preordered WotW!) and Touch of Frost (I should have Kiss of Frost in my mailbox on Tuesday as it's on its way here). YAY!
Happy New Year, Darling!!
I love how many picks you have that I haven't seen on other lists!:) (Not that my tbr needs to get longer, but..:P)
So so so agree with your choices of Witch Eyes and Iron Queen–definitely in my top 10 list this year, too. I also LOVED Divergent and Anna Dressed in Blood, and Saving June is definitely on my TBR list for this coming year.
Hope 2012 brings you lots of health, happiness, and excellent reads!
Smiles!

Great list! I've only read one of the books you mentioned, but will definitely have to see if my library has a few of the others. =)
