Abby Taylor walked out on her irresistible husband three years ago. Now she has no choice but to return to Italy to ask him for a favor. To pay for her grandmother’s heart operation she needs his money, but it comes with strings attached.
Conte Dante Lombardi has it all—an Italian villa, a successful family business, and a noble title. But he needs a child to carry on his legacy and time is running out. He also hopes to satisfy the desire Abby rouses in him.
As Abby uncovers why he’s in such a hurry for a child, she falls in love with him again … just as she realizes it might be impossible to keep her end of the deal.
The Reluctant Wife by Bronwen Evans was such a cute read. The entirety of the premise lies around building a healthy relationship, which I thought was quite awesome.
The characters of The Reluctant Wife simply make the book. Some aspects of the plot weren’t as strong to me, but the characters made up for it! Abby’s Nana is such a hoot. I loved Carla, Katarina, the whole crew. I loved how big of a role the secondary characters had in the book.
The chemistry between Dante and Abby is pretty sizzling. They are so right for one another, yet they try to deny it. I loved seeing them work to try to have a good relationship, despite both of their reservations and fear. The Reluctant Wife jumps right into the story – you are instantly introduced to the problem at hand. Another thing I loved.
Fans of a good contemporary romance will quite enjoy this one, especially with the wonderful characters Bronwen Evans has written.

Ah okay I’m going to have to get this one now. I read one of her historicals not too long ago and enjoyed it as well. And oh I really LOVE a good support cast and it sounds like these guys are awesome.
Great review!
